About
I support children and teens ages 3+ with a wide variety of symptoms including acting-out, post-traumatic symptoms, adjustment to family changes (new siblings, divorce, moves), anxiety, and difficulties with peer relationships. My approach is informed by psychoanalysis, art therapy, and play therapy. This means that I work from the understanding that a child's behavior and symptoms are an attempt at communicating something that is impossible to put into words. I pay close attention to the symbolic meaning of play to help kids find new ways of relating to their feelings. The therapy room is a place where kids can say/do anything they want. This invitation allows young people to play or speak in ways they might not be able to otherwise- acting out confusing emotions that they usually have to keep under control. I also meet regularly with parents to work through the difficulties of raising a child in your unique context.
