I was born and raised in Mexico. I have been an immigrant to the United States for 13 years. I understand an individual from a Latin American country who has immigrated to the United States and is trying to build a new life while carrying the weight of leaving home behind. Many of the women and men I work with are navigating the challenges of adapting to a new culture, often without the support of family or a strong social network. They may feel pressure to appear strong while managing loneliness, uncertainty, or the stress of starting over.
