The oldest human function is the art of storytelling. Modern research suggests that, on a quantum level, language constructs our perceived reality. The stories we tell ourselves—about the past, present, and future—can subtly reshape those moments in time. In this way, language and story are not only vehicles for time travel, but also pathways that bring us home to ourselves and to one another. In times of grief, transition, and trauma, a sacred reckoning becomes possible, in which we remember our truest selves. This softening makes us vulnerable; but also inspires deep potential for healing. Drawing from Collaborative Language Systems, Narrative Therapy, and EMDR Therapy, I offer a client-centered approach that helps individuals speak with authenticity and craft new, meaningful narratives. These modalities provide utmost reverence for sacred power found in loss, pain, and healing. Therapy may allow us to alchemize darkness into light.
