My name is Maria McLaughlin, and I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Towson University and my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Johns Hopkins University both located in Baltimore MD. My clinical work began in 2004 at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Upon completion of my master’s Program, I moved to Nantucket in 2008 and worked as an outpatient therapist. Five years later, I found myself relocating to Cape Cod. Now, my husband and two kids reside in Bourne, MA. Working with individuals to better manage life's obstacle in a way that does not create distress but rather feels supportive is my focus. Whether working on strategies to reduce negative symptoms, or managing life's challenges, building resilience and regaining a sense of clarity and purpose is always my goal.
