As a clinician with ADHD, I have experienced first hand many of the issues that individuals with ADHD face daily (poor experience with providers, family conflict regarding diagnosis, learning skills to accommodate my specific flavor of neurodiversity, etc.). I think of ADHD as my own neurodiverse superpower and source of frustration. To paraphrase, “the ADHD giveth, and the ADHD taketh away.”
