I have over 26 years experience in private practice. I have also been a counselor educator for 20 years teaching at the graduate level and providing practicum and internship supervision for students entering the counseling field. I believe the counseling process is all about change, that is, changing current behaviors, thinking patterns, or feelings. Counseling will allow you opportunities to explore areas of concern, while challenging you to think and/or behave in new ways pertaining to the issues in your life. I believe this can be achieved through a balance of guidance, encouragement, support, and feedback.
