Sometimes, you have to feel your feelings! I often say this to help alleviate the guilt of expressing myself- whether it be sadness, happiness, frustration, etc. Hello, my name is Marsaides Mercier. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been a therapist for 13 years, with initial experience as a case manager. So what brought me to the field of therapy? Of course, I wanted to be helpful to others, and I was told, "I give great advice." However, over time I have learned therapy is not about giving "good advice" but more about helping others find their way to feel what they feel without the guilt of it all.
