If asked to share the most valuable lesson learned from my 20 years of social work practice my answer would be that the person seeking treatment is far more than a list of symptoms. I continue to draw inspiration from the courage and resiliency of my clients and stand firm in the conviction that with treatment and support we all possess the capacity for healing and emotional health. I am a Certified Trauma Therapist through the ITR Training Institute in Morgantown, WV where I received advanced training in the Instinctual Trauma Response (ITR) model developed by renowned clinicians, Drs. Louis Tinnin and Linda Gantt. This innovative approach integrates visualization and relaxation, art therapy, and externalized dialogue to create a narrative which allows clients to process traumatic events without re-traumatization. I have further developed my skills to include EMDR, Internal Family Systems Therapy and CognitiveTherapy. My goal is to provide client centered care using techniques based on individual needs.
