Hello and thanks for looking up my profile. I am a licensed psychologist, a professor of psychology, and a frequent speaker....I am both a clinician and an academic. I am strongly psychodynamically oriented, influenced by both psychoanalytic (in the intersubjective tradition) and Jungian styles. I work well with articulate, curious, and thoughtful people who take their internal lives seriously...or who want to learn to do so. Good therapy with high functioning people is often more about surrendering and unlearning than "trying to change." I encourage moral courage, self-expression and meaning-making. Meaning must be constructed, with care and diligence, kindness and courage... sometimes with expert help. Psychotherapy is the "expert help" which helps rally the resources you've had all along...but perhaps have forgotten about, or long neglected. Together we'll find in you the ingredients you need to proceed.
