About
My personal and professional experience has led me to a mindset that the best place to start is with plain-spoken, non-judgmental conversation about how you are feeling, what you hope to change, and what you are working to cope with. My hope in pursuing this work is to help people work through the feelings that drag them down into shame, anxiety and depression. Compassionate collaboration is the idea underlying all of my work. I believe in humanistic, person centered therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy are the modalities that most directly inform my approach to treatment. Together, we can work to identify the thoughts that are unhelpful to you. Once we've found these thoughts, we can examine them for accuracy and look at them with a balanced perspective. Improved thought patterns lay the foundation to improve actions and feelings and create a life with more manageable anxiety.
