I feel comfortable bringing my own life experiences into the counseling relationship. This helps me relate to my clients and connect genuinely. I do not see myself as an expert but as an objective helper who can reflect on what the client is going through, provide validation and understanding and then gently challenge clients to change patterns and make changes for progress. I enjoy being a partner with my clients to come up with strategies to manage the challenges they face. We all need a place to feel safe, listened to, and seen. I provide that space for clients and their families.
