I think therapy should feel like chatting with an old friend and that it should be tailored to you. I offer short term and long term therapy but have a special focus and training with trauma, narrative & mind body connection. Understanding why stress & physical symptoms can show up with mental health is very valuable. My background in medicine helps in the therapy process by providing education on how mind body effect shows up and how to cope and intervene. As a retired paramedic I welcome veterans, medical and EMS populations. Working with someone who has been there can often make a big difference. The world can be a lot at times and we can all use some extra support. Prior to gaining my master's I worked in emergency medicine for 16 years (14 years as a paramedic and 2 years in the ER). I take a special interest in the body's interaction to mental health struggles and polyvagal theory. My time in medicine gives me a unique approach and perspective.
