Max believes firmly that the heart of therapy is providing companionship and reflection for clients as they approach topics of personal growth and healing. As a queer, non-binary, chronically ill, neurodivergent counselor, they strive to create non-judgmental, safe therapy spaces above all else. They are passionate about keeping up with research on trauma and emerging psychotherapy methods and using the ever-expanding research on the human brain as a source of input for their therapeutic approach. Max is trained in EMDR and also employs a combination of DBT, IFS, somatic therapy, and motivational interviewing based on each person’s specific needs at the time. Coming from a social work background, Max also firmly believes that many of the struggles their clients face stem from the current state of the world, and aims to validate and connect these dots
