Hi! My name is Melanie, and I am a licensed social worker and certified sex crisis counselor at Best Therapies in Chicago, IL. In my previous experience, I was a medical and legal advocate working with survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones, and my work with trauma provided valuable insight into how experience can upheave our sense of safety and stability. The impact of this often forces our psyche to create coping mechanisms that may disrupt our ability to function. I fully believe with the right tools we all have the ability to address these coping mechanisms, change patterns, and heal.
