My ideal client is someone who wants to dig into the deeper issues underlying their symptoms and presenting concerns. I work well with clients who are seeking to understand themselves better and accept themselves more fully. People often come into therapy with unconscious beliefs that some part of them is unacceptable (e.g., their anger, their vulnerability, or their longing for closeness, etc.). I work well with clients who are open to exploring how their past experiences impact them in the present and examining how their symptoms helped them cope in the past but now interfere with their ability to live the life they want. View 4 Photos While I consider myself a generalist who treats clients as whole people rather than a set of symptoms or diagnostic criteria, I do have specialized experience working with clients who struggle with longterm effects of emotional neglect and abuse in childhood. My approach integrates emotion-focused, relational, somatic, and psychodynamic interventions.
