My main theoretical approaches are existential, feminist, narrative, and experiential. Most often, sessions with my clients involve recounting important narratives to the client and looking at word choice when story-telling. This will often lead into a philosophical discussion about the values described in the narrative, as well as an exploration of societal, familial, and gender narratives. We often do this through talking, but we sometimes do this through a specific music listening technique called "Guided Imagery and Music" (GIM).
