I am Melissa Whelan, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LCSW in FL) and a Certified EMDR therapist specializing in grief, trauma, anxiety and depression. I work with adults navigating bereavement, traumatic loss and the emotional impact of profound life transitions. My approach integrates evidence-based practices including EMDR, CBT, mindfulness and grief-informed care, with a strong respect for lived experience and meaning-making. I aim to provide a steady compassionate space where clients can process difficult experiences and reduce distress, and rebuild a sense of stability and identity.
