Depression is an overwhelming state of darkness that consumes your life. It is a gray cloud that follows you everywhere you go dimming all of the things that shine bright in your life. It may get so bleak that you wonder if you will ever be happy again and you cannot see the end to your suffering. There may even be times when you think that you could escape the pain if you no longer existed; times when you think others would be better off if you were no longer alive; times when you think about killing yourself and ending it all. But there is hope and I can carry that hope for you until you are ready to hold it for yourself.
