Dr. DeBellis is a licensed clinical psychologist who is board certified in neuropsychology. He completed his internship at UC Davis Medical Center. He trains students at U.C. Davis Medical Center, Sonoma State University and the Wright Institute. He is also the educational chair for Sutter Mills Peninsula Department of Psychiatry. He specializes in treatment of patients with traumatic brain injury, dementia, stroke and other acquired brain injury. His focus is on the relationship between brain changes and cognitive and emotional functioning. Clinical neuropsychology is a specialty of psychology that involves (1) interviewing a patient with behavioral changes (2) reviewing their medical records (3) administering various hands on tests of brain functioning. After the testing is completed, performance on tests is analyzed and used to arrive at diagnostic impressions about the source of the patient's difficulty.
