About
I have been a Clinical Psychologist for 45 years and teaching and supervising at the graduate and post-doctoral level for 36 years. After receiving my doctorate in Clinical Psychology I completed ten additional years of training in Psychoanalysis & Psychotherapy, Group Therapy and Family & Marital Therapy. I see adults, adolescents, couples and families and specialize in intensive individual therapy and treating highly distressed couples. In addition to my practice, I am an Associate Professor of Psychology and former director of the Postgraduate Program in Couple Therapy at Adelphi University. Most marriages and committed relationships can be healed and can grow. In treatment I focus on obstacles to emotional intimacy. Since many couples find that they get caught in repetitive and unproductive patterns of conflict, my job is to help them identify and remove these patterns and rediscover their emotional connection.
