About

I am a mental health counselor focused on helping individuals with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, weight management, identity exploration, life transitions, and trauma. I gained clinical experience at the University of Iowa Hospital specializing in the weight management and LGBTQ+ clinics. Additionally, I have worked with a diverse range of populations, including but not limited to adolescence in residential treatment and members of the LGBTQ+ community . These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for the resilience and inner strength clients show as they move throughout the lifespan. I utilize a person-centered approach to therapy, helping clients to identify their strengths and desires. I prioritize cultural competency and integrate systemic thinking. Theories I integrate into practice include, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFIT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
