About
Many individuals I see, want to gain clarity on how their past experiences influence how they feel, think, and relate to others. While many clients may have skills to offer themselves temporary reassurance or reframe negative self-perceptions, they may also struggle to maintain this shift. My therapeutic approach is to try and understand clients inner world and assist them in processing their story. I work with clients to construct accurate and emotionally resonant narratives of their life experiences - narratives that are honest, not "sugar-coated," that allow them to feel more grounded in their day to day. What we know about trauma is that, while it’s natural to want to avoid thinking about the event or events, our minds and bodies benefit from addressing them in a safe, trauma-informed environment. This doesn’t mean clients are expected to recount every detail of what happened. Rather, we work toward healing together, gently confronting the trauma’s impact.
