About
I strive to live by Irvin Yalom’s counsel to “create a new therapy for each patient.” From a theoretical foundation of attachment, neuroscience and evolutionary psychology, and with an eye to the client's unique environment, circumstances, strengths and lived experiences, I collaborate with clients to understand and map a course of treatment. I utilize the frameworks of psychodynamic theory, narrative therapy, IFS, EFT, mindfulness, and existential psychology throughout the course of therapy as relevant. My orientation to therapy is predicated on the therapeutic relationship and the development of an authentic and caring connection My approach to couples therapy works largely within the framework of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I collaborate with couples to identify negative patterns, express underlying core emotions and needs and, in turn, design new cycles of interaction that lead to greater intimacy, responsiveness and a more fulfilling relationship.
