About
I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, including inpatient psychiatric units, residential mental health facilities, intensive outpatient programs, and crisis intervention hotlines. I can adapt to work with a variety of people and diagnoses, in an eclectic manner, because one size does not fit all in life or therapy. I am comfortable working with people who have episodes of mania and psychosis, as well as people who are struggling with chronic depression. What's important to me is what the patient wants out of therapy, and we will use an approach that both of us feel will adequately address those specific needs. In the first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy. I'll want to know your past experience with mental health providers and what your goals for therapy are. Together, we will review what you think would be helpful from a therapist, and I'll share my thoughts. We will create a schedule for sessions and a tentative treatment plan.
