I work with people to understand what may be holding them back from achieving their goals, whether in relationships or professionally. Often, old patterns that are no longer useful and out of one's awareness are operating. These concerns come up both in individual and couple work. I focus on attachment patterns -- in couples, there is often a pursuer and an avoider, although these roles are not always fixed. I've seen these patterns in couples of all sexual orientations. I do my best to stay away from gender stereotypes and stay open to what is being communicated, both verbally and nonverbally.
