As a child therapist, my ideal client is that little one who’s holding so much inside—whether it’s anxiety, anger, sadness, or confusion—and doesn’t yet have the words to make sense of it. They may be struggling with behavior at school, withdrawing at home, or feeling overwhelmed by emotions they don’t know how to express. I often work with children who come from families that deeply care, but feel stuck. Parents want to help, but they’re unsure how to reach their child in a way that truly supports them. What these kids need most is a safe, calm space where they can just be. A place where they’re not judged for their feelings.
