When you're at a crossroads, what drives the choices you make? I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist helping my clients take charge of their life and love stories. In college, I wrote a piece for a creative writing class in which the protagonist was a not-so-subtle self insert. The professor's feedback was: "this character has no agency," which was absolutely right. My choices were driven by side characters. I decided to take charge of my own life right then and there, and now I want you to have your own main character moment. My skills and training, and those of my associates, are at your disposal.
