As a licensed professional counselor, I work with adults of all ages, conducting both long and short-term therapy. I have worked in a variety of settings, including treatment centers, residential mental health facilities, and schools. While I have treated people struggling with a multitude of issues, I have extensive training in treating depression, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders. In interacting with my clients, my primary emphasis is to operate with unconditional positive regard with the aim of providing a safe, non-judgmental space in which to work. I approach counseling from an existential and person-centered perspective, focusing on the goals of both raising self-awareness and helping to create a meaningful and purpose-driven life. While I incorporate various therapeutic techniques from other orientations, my primary emphasis is on the relational component of the therapeutic process.
