Life is often complex and confusing, and the pain of trauma is intense. Trauma can be one event that scares you and makes you feel helpless, or a chain of them that teach your body that the world is not to be trusted. Anxiety is a daily reality and moving through life is like moving through a room full of carnival mirrors and moving mazes. Worry for the future keeps us awake at night. The past intrudes in our present, drives our behavior in ways we cannot explain, and leaves us questioning our own motivation and even our sanity. Thoughts can become so loud in our heads that rest is not possible.
