About

My name is Mr. Shamar Young, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Our Community Counseling, LLC. As a native of Bridgeport, CT, I am very familiar with the needs of at-risk urban populations and was confronted with life's decisions and consequences as a teenager. I hold a Master's in Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University in NYC with a concentration in Client-Centered Management. Our Community Counseling is invested in addressing the social-emotional needs of youths. Adults and families are in an effort to equip individuals with the tools they need to successfully navigate life and conquer every obstacle. Our Community Counseling, LLC is committed to inspiring hope and making valuable contributions to the overall emotional health and well-being of the children, adults, and families we serve by providing quality care to each of our clients through integrated clinical practice, education, and empowerment.
