Good therapy should result in real life changes, not just increased self-awareness in the therapy office. People are seeking understanding, and guidance. My best work comes when there is mutual respect and an openness to learning. Everyone feels better when they find out they are not 'crazy' and there is an explanation for what they are feeling and thinking. I tend to be active in my work, because people come because they want feedback, not silence. My style is eclectic, meaning I will use many techniques to reach the goal, and the challenge will extend past my office door.
