I work with teens and adults—many of whom have ADHD, anxiety, or a deep sense of not fitting in. A lot of the clients I support grew up in families where they weren’t truly listened to—where being helpful, “nice,” or getting good grades mattered more than being themselves. They learned to meet others’ expectations, often living out the dreams of their parents without realizing it. They’ve looked to school, work, partners, or the military to define who they are. Many of my clients are thoughtful, artistic, and sensitive, striving for perfection—but perfection isn’t a human goal. It’s a barrier to authenticity and self-acceptance.
