When I think of therapy I think back to the most influential therapist I had during my own therapeutic journey. She once told me, “I spent 10 years in therapy healing myself, and I thought now I need to go out into the world and help heal others.” This has become my motto as I believe we are all teachers and helpers to each other. My foundational tools are mindfulness/meditation, self-care and working towards increasing both awareness and understanding of our emotional selves to achieve a more balanced and healthy whole self. Therapy is the place where you get to figure out who you are in a non-judgmental and affirming environment
