I am not a typical therapist. I see myself as a co-author, witness, helpful ally, collaborator and useful resource. Rather than taking a role as an “expert” by making assumptions or interpretations about your life, I love to use skillful conversation and artful question-asking to help you get past obstacles. You are on this page because you have strength in you, you have desire in you and you have healing in you. You are the main character in your own life. Therapy can either help or hinder the development of this character as someone powerful, capable and whole. I view difficult feelings as sacred grounds upon which preferences and values can be built. Sometimes it's hard to see this due to the enormity of the problems we face and the complicated contexts we are living in. What if we saw ourselves, not as fragile humans living in a perfect world, but rather daring humans living in an extremely difficult world?
