My journey to becoming a therapist began with running therapy groups for individuals in a therapeutic community focused on addiction in Cartagena -Colombia in 1995. This experience was foundational, as it allowed me to develop skills in group dynamics and treatment perspectives. I then transitioned to working with patients with dual diagnoses in a mental health hospital in Medellin -Colombia in 1998 working with Chronic Mental Health Illness, where I gained a deeper understanding of the complexities of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
