My approach is to accept that all people will see the world through their own filter. Everyone's belief system makes sense from their perspective. Unhappiness is caused by the view people take of things so the internal dialogue is the key to understanding people. Focus of therapy is to help indiviudals find a better way of looking at their current situation through empathy and cognitive restructuring. The ultimate goal is finding some joy in the journey.
