Are you a Black woman healing from the trauma of sexual abuse, sexual assault, or growing up in a dysfunctional family? Are you the change maker, setting out to resolve generational curses by breaking from "the way we've always done things"? Historically Black women have been the rock of the family, sometimes with devastating results. Chronic stress and unresolved trauma can cause physical symptoms like high blood pressure and emotional struggles with depression, self-worth, and boundaries. Add to that the cultural expectation that we should stay in a child's place and not air our dirty laundry, and it's a heavy burden to bear.
