About
My goal is to help you become psychologically stronger and feel better about yourself as a person. I'll help you think clearly, know yourself better, develop calmness, communicate effectively, and behave smartly. Abusive self-criticism, impulsivity or undue anger are destructive patterns that worsen over time if they are not contained. I'll teach you to gain self-control so that you can catch these tendencies in their earliest stages and substitute better alternatives. I focus on learning self-compassion, so you can deal with a lack of success without turning against yourself. Removing gratuitous negativity from life is liberating. I listen closely as you speak about the events or concerns that brought you to therapy. I will gently draw you out, especially if things inside feel blocked or jumbled. I'll share my understanding of what I hear you saying, to learn if I'm tracking you well, to create for you an experience of feeling understood, and to add texture to your own perspective.
