I have seen that in difficult times couples and families get stuck, repeating the same solutions to the same problems, and nothing changes. The short-term, solution focused work I do, helps break these unproductive patterns so that new, more hopeful aspects of ourselves and our relationships can emerge. Research has shown that couple and family therapy is a most effective treatment for many problems, including depression that seem to be localized within the individual. The effectiveness of this work stems from its focus on changing aspects of relationships that trigger and reinforce the individual problems we bring to therapy.
