Some clients are encouraged or persuaded to engage in psychological services and others are fully self referred. I have come to learn that regardless of the avenue for initiating services and the reason for referral, most clients can have a positive therapeutic experience and achieve some measure of success, change or resolution to general or specific areas of concern or mutually defined treatment goals. My experiences have provided me with an appreciaition for clients' needs at various stages of life and given me the opportunity to learn to work effectively with clients with a wide range of functioning, types of problems and phases of life. In 20 plus years in the field I have had the pleasure of working with a very diverse group of child, adolescent, adult, and senior clients in a variety of settings and levels of care- from ER to inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation and private practice- with a broad range of presenting problems and levels of functioning.
