Many of my clients identify as "people pleasers", and say they feel stuck in a difficult relationship with their family or partner. They may struggle setting boundaries and have a history of abandoning themselves in order to "keep the peace" with others. Some grew up in erratic or dysfunctional families where "walking on eggshells" was common and familiar. As adults, they have learned to tolerate dysfunction and may subconsciously select partners who are similarly invalidating, defensive, critical or otherwise difficult to please. As a result, these inner child wounds now show up in their adult relationships. Together, we will learn to identify these parts, set boundaries and heal interpersonal trauma. Additionally, I hold a special place for work addressing codependency, couples counseling, re-parenting (e.g. learning how to identify, process and break old patterns developed from childhood), as well as women navigating motherhood.
