Throughout life’s journey experiencing struggles, sickness, and loss, we sometimes find ourselves in need of the kind of unbiased support and unconditional positive regard that a counselor can provide. We benefit from the sacred space that’s held just for us during therapy, and the healing that occurs in the relationship between ourselves and the counselor, and of course in the healthier relationship we develop with ourselves and others. When we experience the darkness of depression, overwhelming anxiety, trauma, loss, crisis of identity or faith, or even indecision, our personal guidance systems can become temporarily blocked.
