I believe that therapy begins with an invitation. When clients share information in sessions, they are inviting their therapists to see the parts of them that might be too embarrassing, painful, or scary to show anyone else. Even in a space without judgement or criticism, it can be hard to take that step. To reduce the fear of being judged, I am to work collaboratively with my clients, highlight their strengths, and help them reach the best solutions to their problems.
