I have practiced emergency medicine for 28 years before completing my training as a Marriage and Family Therapist. As an AMFT, I now work clinically with physicians and other healthcare professionals—including PAs, NPs, nurses, and allied clinical staff—as well as their partners and families. Many of the people I work with are highly functional professionals who don’t initially think of themselves as therapy clients, but who recognize that something is no longer sustainable—whether that shows up as burnout, moral injury, emotional exhaustion, or strain in relationships at home. My clinical focus includes: physicians and physicians-in-training, PAs, NPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, healthcare couples and dual-career clinical families, partners and family members affected by the demands of healthcare work, professionals navigating career transitions, identity strain, or cumulative stress.
