Hi! My name is Shakira Miller and I am a board-certified, Licensed Professional Counselor serving Delaware and Virginia. It is my belief that our personal experiences, both good and bad, form our worldview and how we think determines how we feel and behave. If we process those experiences and challenge the negative perspectives, we eliminate the patterns that hinder our growth, and thus change our lives. With 13 years of experience, I have supported adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD, as well as other emotional conflicts. In our first session we will discuss the mutual expectations of both therapist and client and initiate the rapport building process, establishing a foundation for your therapeutic journey. I will guide you through a comprehensive assessment processing relevant personal history, important relationships, and current challenges contributing to your discomfort.
