What led me to the behavioral health field was a deep desire to understand human suffering and support people in moving through it with compassion and dignity. Early in my life, I witnessed how mental health challenges—whether my own, my family’s, or in the community—could affect every area of a person’s life. I became curious not just about the symptoms people experience but about the root causes and the healing process. Over time, that curiosity evolved into a calling. I was drawn to studying psychology and human behavior, but I also wanted to be someone who held space for people when they felt most vulnerable.
