Clients with Alzheimer's or other neurodegenerative diseases often feel as if their needs are forgotten, once they have been diagnosed. They, along with their care-partners, need empathy, understanding, and practical guidance on how to manage symptoms, enhance communication, and maintain quality of life. My work with people in the early stages of these diseases is to empower them to identify practical ways that fit with their own values and goals and help them find ways to live more fulfilling lives. People who are dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions also need validation of their experiences.
