My approach to counseling is inspired by a simple quote. Pema Chödrön writes, “Only to the degree that we’ve gotten to know our personal pain, only to the degree that we’ve related with pain at all, will we be fearless enough, brave enough, and enough of a warrior to be willing to feel the pain of others". Are you brave enough to get to know all of the parts of yourself? Counseling helps us understand and relate to our pain. You will determine how you spend your time in counseling, and I help. I pull from various modalities including Person-Centered, Internal Family Systems, Existential and Psychodynamic therapy.
