In my own journey, I found that silencing myself, putting my needs on the backburner, and living in the shadows was normal. Perhaps you too, have come to understand that much of our authentic selves can be suppressed and tainted by our experiences with sociocultural issues, traumas, anxiety burnout, depression, the multiple demands placed on us, and other stressors that make life difficult to balance. You may have been taught that in order to survive, or even thrive, you had to put yourself second —or last. Through therapy, we center your experiences and unlearn what does not serve you so that you can go from surviving to aligning.
