I am a second-generation Lao American, born and raised in Arkansas. I grew up in a humble environment where my father often reminded me of the hard work required to build a life I wanted. As a descendant of refugees, I understand the challenges that come with striving for upward mobility—and I’ve faced many of those obstacles myself.
